Militia files, 1831-1834.

The Governor of Ala. acts as the Commander-in-Chief of the State Militia. This series contains letters sent to the Governor relating to the Militia and military affairs. Included are requests for arms and supplies and letters concerning elections of officers. Of particular interest is a letter from John M. Duprey, which reports voting irregularities in an election to select the Major General of the Seventh Division of the State Militia.
